Snow is romantic - and capitalism works for everybody

It snowed several times last week.
The romantics were full of it. Hey, we'll have a white christmas etc. etc. etc. YAWN!!!!
Look out there today. No new snow for days. A mixture of grey-brown relics of snow and black ice and filthy brown slush. And large pools of ice-filled, dirty water.
Romantic? Spare me! And someone, please save me from idiotic romantic notions and put us back in the real world.
It reminds me of the people who tell us that capitalism works for everybody. It is the one solution that ensures that there is no poverty, no unemployment, no debt .....etc. etc. etc. YAWN!!!
Look at the world we have now. More people in terms of sheer numbers living in poverty than ever before (and the number of people living in poverty is many multiples of those living in wealth), unemployment (except in capitalist economy dictatorships like China) at disgustingly high levels. And debt still near all-time record levels with little likelihood of any reduction in the foreseeable future.
Of course the alternatives do not work either? Probably not, but this version of capitalism is a grotesquely over-romanticised philosophy, and is the road to ruin for a large number of people on this planet. That is facing the facts as they are, not indulging in silly daydreaming.
